SOLIBO Studio is our motion capture service offer, built to support projects in video games, animated film, immersive experience, physical performance and performance direction.

Each strand highlights a specific use of motion capture, with technical, creative and human solutions adapted to what you need.

Five services

What we deliver

Digital avatar and performer side by side during a capture session

01

Motion capture for animation

We record precise, expressive performances, ideal for 3D animation productions — shorts, series or features. Our work slots into your pipeline through compatible delivery formats (FBX, BVH). We can capture full performances or build bespoke movement libraries: walk cycles, expressions, dialogue.

02

Motion capture for video games

Built for real-time needs, our video game offer covers gameplay capture (combat, interactions), specific animations for NPCs or main characters, and prop motions using weapons, tools or custom-built objects. We also apply an optimisation logic for Unreal, Unity or Godot.

03

Motion capture for immersive experiences

From augmented to virtual reality, we support creators developing immersive performances where the moving body becomes the interface. Drawing on both technical and artistic expertise, we capture rich, subtle gesture, suited to the constraints of VR/AR spatialisation and interactive storytelling.

04

Stunts and physical performance

Combat, stunts, martial arts, extreme sport: our team is trained to capture complex, dynamic movement. We work with stunt performers, athletes and performers to record choreographed or improvised sequences. The result: powerful, alive animation, reusable across any medium.

05

Performance direction for motion capture

Directing an actor in mocap means putting technique and intention in conversation. We offer on-floor support to help performers adjust their acting to the virtual environment, maintain continuity of movement, and get the most out of their performance. Our artistic expertise adapts to each project: film, video games, experimentation.

Motion capture, because…

A technique that opens doors rather than filtering people out

  • It is inclusive

Open to every body, every gender, every age, every practice.

  • It leads somewhere

A skill that opens doors: video games, film, live performance, research, education.

  • It is genuinely technical

We work with concrete, current tools — the very ones used by industry, universities and studios.

  • It is creative

We invent, we repurpose, we build images, stories and experiences.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of project can you support?

We work on animated films, video games, immersive experiences (VR/AR), hybrid live performance and music videos. Whether you are an established production or an independent creator, we adapt our support to what you need.

Can you handle art direction or performance direction on the floor?

Yes. We offer dedicated support for performance direction, with both an artistic and a technical eye. Our aim is to get the best out of the performance and keep the acting coherent with the constraints of capture.

Do you offer facial and finger capture as well as body?

Absolutely. We are equipped to capture full body, hands (finger capture) and facial expression, in real time or offline. This data can be synchronised to produce rich, complete performances.

Do you also build props?

Yes. We make custom props — swords, staffs, tools, fictional weapons — in foam or 3D printed, compatible with motion capture. Props let us enrich action scenes and interactive sequences.

Do you only work in Martinique?

We are based in Martinique, but the project is deeply open to Caribbean and overseas collaboration: Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Haiti, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guatemala, and also the Pacific and Indian Ocean territories. Our pipeline is designed to work both on site and remotely — secure file exchange, remote retargeting, remote coaching of performers, delivery optimised for Unity, Unreal, Blender or other tools. We believe in a decentralised, cooperative model, able to support creators wherever they are.

Can we shoot at your studio, or do you travel?

We have our own equipped studio in Martinique, and we can also work on other locations where the technical conditions allow. Our system is fully portable.

What export formats do you deliver?

We deliver in industry-standard formats: FBX binary or ASCII, or integrated directly into Unreal Engine, Godot or Unity projects. We can also adapt files to your specific rig on request.

Do you offer full production, or only capture?

Both. We offer pure capture services, and fuller packages including scene design, coaching, data cleanup, retargeting onto a custom rig, corrective animation, and even integration into your final project.

What does a motion capture session cost?

The rate depends on duration, the number of performers, the types of capture (body, face, fingers) and the associated services — art direction, data cleanup and so on. We produce a tailored quote after a first conversation about your needs.

And concretely, your rates?

We are a non-profit association, which lets us offer rates adapted to the type of production: independent, institutional, student or professional. Our service offer has a double purpose: to make motion capture accessible, and to support the research, archiving and creation work we carry out within the association. By entrusting us with your projects, you help sustain a creative and technological ecosystem in Martinique, built on shared knowledge, innovation, and giving cultural heritage its due.
